CERTO Family has sent 4 members to Fo Guang Shan (Malaysia) FGS Centre in Jenjarom, Selangor on this beautiful Saturday morning to assist in FGS Chinese New Year Food Box Packing. We have a total of 40 people come to join this event. With everyone’s dedication and support, we successfully packed 1000FGS Chinese New Year Food Box in 4 hours. Each box consisted of 14 items.
Also, CERTO Family member involved in cleaning up the massive lantern storage areas in FGS Centre before leaving the Centre. This is to get it ready for The 2022 Chinese New Year Lantern & Flora Festival show at Fo Guan Shan Dong Zen Temple, in Jenjarom Happy Village, Kuala Langat.
The Covid-19 Pandemic has been raging for more than a year.
Since May 2021, the number of cases has risen steadily until 14 July 2021, and the number of confirmed cases in one day has exceeded 10,000.
From 01 June 2021, the Malaysian government began to implement a comprehensive movement control order (FMCO) to completely shut down social and economic sectors. However, the daily cases did not decrease but increased, until 03 July 2021, it was decided that several areas in Selangor and several Kuala Lumpur Enforcement of the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at the location.
Under various restrictions, it will inevitably bring economic and living pressure to the people, and even many poor families are already facing the crisis of breaking the threshold. In order to help these groups get through this difficult time, the Fo Guang Cultural and Educational Center launched the “Fo Guang Sanhao Food Bank” activity to deliver loving lunches and dry food to the poor in Klang Valley. The service areas include Puchong and Petaling District 3 (SS3), Petaling District 2 (SS2), Damansara New Village, Qianbaijia New Village, Sungai Wei New Village, Jalil Peak, Kuala Lumpur Ampang District, etc. This event will last for two months, from July to August 2021.
Loving lunches are distributed from Tuesday to Friday, while dry food is distributed every Tuesday. As of July 22, the permanent residents have distributed a total of 797 dry food and 3,169 love lunches, benefiting 2,231 households.
CERTO has participated in this charity activity, covering Ampang District. We hope to use this activity to help more families and prevent them from facing the problem of starvation during the epidemic.
CERTO Family pray that the epidemic will be eliminated as soon as possible and the people will return to normal life.
On 19 April 2020, due to continuous shortage of anti-epidemic (Covid-19) medical supplies, in line with the spiritual concept of “上善正道·济世爱人” (Right Way Tobe Good, Love All Mankind), Master Tanson Tan proposed a jointly initiate 10 people Team to carry out “Protection of Vulnerable Elderly Groups” Campaign to prepare some necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the elderly to make a difference!
On 7 May 2020, a total of 10 co-sponsors gathered at CERTO to hold the work arrangement of the preparatory committee. After about 10 days of fundraising and donations, we received enthusiastic responses from classmates and friends.
All donations were used to purchase materials for 21 nursing homes.
With the assistance of general secretary of Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia (YBAM) Johor, & chairman of YBAM Selangor, the Joint Committee successfully confirmed 21 NGOs and Non-Profit nursing homes, each will received a donation of around RM2,000 of anti-epidemic supplies, a total of about RM40,000 of supplies.
We successfully accomplished the mission to deliver 50 CTN Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Package to 21 Old Folks Centre at the peak of Covid-19 Pandemic.
